Elizabeth Dhuey

Dr. Dhuey is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management at the University of Toronto, Scarborough. Her research has been published in top economics and education journals and has been cited by the popular press, including The New York TimesThe Wall Street Journal, in the book Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell and on the TV series, 60 Minutes.

Dr. Dhuey brings her background as a labour economist to assess and evaluate education and training programs attempting to increase the acquisition of human capital in response to disrupted labour markets.

Michel Perlman

Dr. Perlman is a Professor in the Department of Applied Psychology and Human Development at OISE, University of Toronto. She has worked with different levels of government in Canada and the U.S. to measure and monitor early childhood education for quality improvement purposes. 

Dr. Perlman brings her experience studying educational settings and outcomes to bear on assessing the efficacy of current policies intended to support future workers.

Linda White

Dr. White is a Professor in the Department of Political Science and the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto. She has published extensively in top policy and public administration journals and is currently overseeing a SSHRC-funded research project on the politics of education policy.

Dr. White brings her expertise in education, family policies, and labour market supportive institutions to assess current policy responses to the future world of work.

I Younan An, Graduate Student, Political Science

I Younan An is a PhD student in the Public Policy and Comparative Policies program at U of T. His research examines the effectiveness of English-Language training programs for new Canadian immigrants, and analyzes provincial educational curriculums to determine their relationship to the global consensus on core skills.

Samantha Burns, Graduate Student, OISE

Samantha is PhD student in the Developmental Psychology Education program at U of T. She has expertise in research methods, such as qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods design, data collection and analytical techniques. She is interested in how early life experiences influence children’s developmental trajectories, with emphasis on early childhood education and care settings.

Anna Katyn Chimielewski, Associate Professor, OISE

Anna is affiliated with the Dept. of Leadership, Higher, and Adult Education at U of T. Her research examines trends and patterns of educational inequality, including socio-economic disparities in academic achievement, school segregation, and the consequences of childhood inequality.

Alix Jansen, Ministry of Social Development, New Zealand

Alix completed her PhD in Political Science at the University of Toronto. Her recent academic output has focused on public policy responses to precarity and unemployment, social upheaval, and, more recently, technological change.

Sumayya Saleem, Graduate Student, OISE

Sumayya is a PhD student in the Developmental Psychology and Education program at U of T. She is interested in understanding consensus formation around future skills and evaluating the quality of the literature cited by organizations publishing on the topic. Since she has been with the FutureSkills Lab she has also been involved with RIES initiatives and collaboration with a community organization.

Muhammad Ali Sajid, Graduate Student, Economics

Muhammad Ali’ is an MA student in Economics at U of T. His research interests are in applied microeconomics, particularly labor economics, and the economics of education. He is currently researching special education identification and the efficacy of early childhood interventions.

Brad Seward, Associate Professor, CIRHR

Brad is affiliated with the Centre for Industrial Relations and Human Resources at U of T. His research focuses on topics including education, skills, school to work transitions and labour market outcomes, human capital, and workplace diversity and inclusion. He was Project Director of the Research Initiative, Education + Skills (RIES).
